This will be the 5th annual SWFF whose aim is to increase awareness in the South West for fashion designers and related industries.  SWFF provides opportunity to showcase, network and promote design.

5 years is a significant milestone so the SWFF crew want to mark the occasion. This event has proven to be a major springboard for regional models so it only seems fitting to invite past “Faces” back, plus Bunbury’s own Caitlin Lomax, a past Perth Fashion Festival Face. Caitlin was a founding member of SWFF and she is thrilled to support this event as an ambassador.

So what is in store for 2015! Friday evening will begin with Futurism inspired Art to Wear. Each artist has created garments based on the Icosahedron shape, combining their interpretation and art genre to make something quite unique. Special guest Charlotte Smith, renowned fashion curator and collector will interview local celebrity guests, all broadcast online. Designer parades will follow with hand-picked clips of past faces, festivals and shoots. On Saturday morning American born and Blue Mountain based Charlotte will host a Champagne Brunch at Casellas. Using her natural charm and skills she will enthral guests with her fashion stories while showing a snippet from her vast collection of both contemporary and vintage couture (Her entire collection is in excess of 8500). Charlotte will then go on to present a lecture at 3pm, where she will focus on Future Stars in fashion.

Particularly exciting in 2015 is the expansion and re-inventing of the “Retail Parade”. This will occur on the Saturday at 1pm and will be a show stopper! Ranges from local boutiques and agents, as well as students will be shown alongside a new segment focusing on Celebrity Looks that can be bought at local stores. Combining vintage with new, it promises to be a fantastic feature of the event. And a brilliant showcase of what Bunbury has to offer, proving that we sit up their alongside any strip shopping centre in the world.

The grand finale on Saturday evening will be a spectacular affair with designer parades including some of Perth’s significant and up and coming labels, forming part of the WA Designer Roadshow.

Each evening we will be partying on with Willow Bridge Wines, great food and entertainment. Log on and get your tickets now to the South West’s premier fashion event.

Bunbury Cup means Bunbury Style…..And we have it covered

Arguably one of Bunbury’s biggest events of the year, the 2015 Bunbury Cup will continue to deliver. And it is the day when both guys and girls get the chance to truly shine. We love dressing up so thought we would put some ideas out there to get you all excited. With such amazing artwork now showcased throughout the city we were provided with the perfect back drop for our shoot.  All clothing provided by Essence and Brooklyn for Men while headwear from SWIRL and shoes provided by JOLT. Styled by Nathan Gardiner.

Fintan Magee’s ‘The Storm’ brought back recent memories of The Giants visit to Perth.

And who says you have to wear heels to the races.  These loafers add a touch of quirkiness to the outfit, and the guys can still look smart in casual shorts and shirt.

Amok Islands Flounder is a beautiful blend of subtle colours.  Great to bounce off these bright tones.

Thanks to Ben and Carly for being such accommodating models, especially for getting up so early. This is only a small taste of what you can find in the shops of Bunbury.  We have an awesome selection of boutiques and shoe stores so take a walk and enjoy the pleasure of strip shopping.

Bunbury Shines at Melbourne Cup

Stylo was out and about yesterday at the Bunbury Turf Club to share in the excitement of the “Race That Stops The Nation”. We were more than impressed with the effort so many had made in dressing for the occasion.  There is no doubt the Bunbury crowd have raised the stakes this year. As 1 punter commented, it was a classy event. Here is a few of our favourite outfits. And we will start with this one. It is a perfect example of how keeping it simple can still look amazing.  And love the Gorman shoes with the touch of rose gold.

Stylo is always seeking out some one who can carry off Vintage, and we have a winner here

Four girls who can do no wrong when it comes to putting it together, including our Stylo Kristy.

Classic navy in between 2 on trend floral numbers.

Black and white – Black and white – Black and white. Another winner.

Stylo loves a family that all dress to impress – and these guys nailed it – and were more than happy to pose for our pic.

If some one asked what colours were in for this season – we can only say all.  While there were lots of floral and bright tones, the pastels were featuring strongly too. These girls looked beautiful together.

Visitors from the Gold Coast thought they would see how Bunbury celebrated the Melbourne Cup.  We hope we didn’t disappoint, and are glad they made so much effort to dress for the day.

Young and funky, has to be part of the Cafe 140 team.

Don’t you love how these three tone in so beautifully.  Harrison is a lucky man to be amongst 2 beauties.

Look at those legs. Hot. the nude underlay really helps in featuring the intricate lace in Shiralee’s dress.

Very clever tie in with the multi coloured fascinator.

This is the first 3 beauties I photographed yesterday and they set the bar pretty high.

So many, many, many great looks.

And I am going to finish this post with 2 pics that show what the day is all about.  Melbourne Cup provides an opportunity for communities to celebrate together and share in fun and laughter.

Spring Style in Leisure Wear

With Spring now on our doorstep Stylo is encouraging you to get out and about in beautiful Bunbury.  It’s time to tone up, get fit and enjoy the great outdoors – all done in style of course. Our city is blessed with so many options when it comes to finding a space to exercise. Walkway’s, cycleways, boardwalks and beaches. We have it all……and when you look good you feel good.  To find out what new season leisure wear is now available in stores Stylo met up with Rikki and Xave from Sportfirst Bunbury and while having a chat thought we would also check out some pretty cool locations.

We started with a stroll through one of Bunbury’s newest spaces, the “Wardandi Memorial Park”. Xave is wearing Adidas and Nike while Rikki is showcasing brilliant colours from Lorna Jane.

Who says play equipment is just for the kids???? The equipment at Rocky Point is perfect for beach play.  Simple, easy and ties in so beautifully with the landscape. Xave wearing Adidas and Everlast. Rikki wearing Lorna Jane and Running Bare. It was time to hit the beach and Rikki thought she might teach Xave a little yoga before starting a busy work day, although in the end Xave was happy to relax on the basalt wall.

And just so you know, we did get them to prove the gear can be used for running in as well.  It wasn’t all about lying around on a beautiful morning.

Interested in these outfits or other great combos, then head into Bunbury sport shops including Sportfirst, Sportsmarine, and Jim Kidds.
